What happens in a livestream class?
In each livestream class, the teacher begins with a brief introduction of the topic, then guides a brief meditation to calm the mind. At the end of the opening meditation, the teacher reminds everyone to set a beneficial intention for attending the class.
Following the meditation is a teaching on an aspect of Buddhist practice, methods and perspective, including the very practical application of meditation in everyday life. The mainstay of every teaching are books by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso which explain Buddha’s teachings in ways that make sense to people of the modern world.
Each teaching ends with another guided meditation, specifically to help students take the teaching to heart and be able to begin to practice what they’ve learned on their own.

SPECIAL WEEKEND EVENTS
Special introductory workshops, courses and retreats are often offered on weekends via livestreaming. In particular, “mini-retreats” on Saturdays explore a single topic in greater depth than an introductory class. Everyone is welcome to attend, even those new to meditation.

ON YOUR OWN
Having learned methods and practices for improving our mind, we can continue to train on our own. If we put these methods into practice, we will experience greater peace, fewer problems and improved relationships.
Although the General Program classes are taught as a series, each class also stands alone. So feel free to attend of them, even if you missed earlier classes in the series.
General Program classes are based on Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s books. Teachers include specifics about the books they’re teaching from to give students the opportunity to engage in follow-up study.
